The meal that I bought was I duplicated it from Dr.Smith.I thought why not, After all I cooked some of the organic meal slitely different. I traveled to Trade Fair by train located in 128st and riverside drive. This meal I haved prepared it acouple of times with friends and family. Coming from a family that loves to cook and myself being a chef at Friday's Restaurant, It was an awsome project that I enjoyed preparing and cooking.
I shared my meal with my mother and two cousins who had just came from Chirstmas shopping. It did not take me awhile to cook the meal. First, I seasoned the steak with salt, pepper, garlic and oregano.Second, I let the meat rest, which means the flavor of the seasonings had to penetrate it for about 2 hours.Third, I grilled it on both sides for about 10-15 minutes on each side, medium rare is how I like it.Then with the potatoes, I first ( Boiled) them for about 15-10 minutes and then ( Grilled) them for about another 15 minutes or until you see grill marks on them. The Organic Eggs, I pouched them in water, which means, get a deep pan and add water half way.Let the water boil and then crack eggs and insert slowy into water and wait about 3 minutes until you see it looks cooked.I also bought Raspberries and blended it into a paste, add 2 table-spoons of water into blender and ( 6 ounces of Raspberries), also, 2 banana's I pealed and grilled on each side for about 4 minutes on each side. Finally, I added Vanilla Organic Ice-Cream to banana's and raspberries purea. Reflecting back on everything that I learned in class, made me realize the way I use to see the world. Like being stuck in the ( MATRIX) or the ( MAN in THE CAVE).Not noticing the issues that are going on in the world and not caring about the enviroment or what I ate. But know is like ( NEO) seeing the Matrix at the end, Seeing all the problems and learning that if we dont take drastic measures to change how we treat the planet and the change the way be eat, even as far as polluting the earth with toxic chemicals. We will transform this Planet into a waste land, not only that but deseases like diabetes become a huge problems for our society and need to we need to take better care of our bodies if we want to truly change.

In the movie of " Stuff ", Annie Leonard's debate " to those exploiting the planet's resourcesto make stuff",
that are considered more of a luxury and wants rather the things we need. Its amazing how the Goverment
exploids luxury's we dont need and when we see these luxury's they advertise in places like buses or television, let it be known that we have been brained-washed. It advertises that what we have is not good
enough and need to purchase the newest item being displayed because it will make us feel better. For example,I purchased an Apple I-Pod classic 1year ago, it came with 80 gigabytes, about 8 months later
Apple already had a newer version. basically it was the same I-Pod just with different features and they added 80 more gigabytes which it total became 160 gigabytes. More room for music and videos, Apple displaid it as the ultimate electronic a must have for christmas. So eventually they brain-washed me into
buying this device which when I came to my sences I realised that I did not need this because who has
5,000 songs and music videos that they like. It was a waste of $270 dollars, and with the old one I gave it away to my niece. When it comes to the Goverment's saying that it should be ( Of the people, By the people
and For the people) sounds more like lie's and brain-washed, it should be there to protect us and take and make better decisions. Annie Leonard, states that " President Eisenhower's Counsil of Economic Advisors
Chairman said that " The American economy's ultimate purpose is to provide more consumer goods".
When it comes to that phrase to me is( debatable) because we the buyer's demand better product's and always on the wait for that next big thing to hit the market. Its all about supply and demand, Example, I remember when Manhattan was a smaller Island acouple of decades ago, since it has been expanded and
new features have been added to it, more luxury buildings, bigger highways and the New York Transit system is on the works with creating a new path train that comes from New Jersey to NewYork. This is also investing in more pollution being created and toxins being released into the atmosphere which means the air we are breathing is harmful to us.Example, In the country of ( China ,) the air cuality is and has been polluted for years, China is the most populous country in the world. Accounting for 21% of the estimated world popullation which implies that the people there have high demand for "wants" China has the worlds best ( Super highways ) and with all those cars and buses out on roads releasing toxic fumes its running out of natural resources and eventually it will be impossible to live there, to me slowy the world looks to be headed
into being a( waste land) Too much natual resources are being consumed for our luxury's.In other places in the world people live without luxuries and live life o.k., In conclusion I agree and dis-agree that the ultimate
purpose of the American economy is too supply us with bigger and better things, also at the same time it hurts me to know that we are creating a problem with pollution and toxins that are destroying the planet and our natural resoures likes tree's and water's are being polluted.

In a reading from an excert from Greg Crister, " Let Them Eat Fat ". States that fast food chains like
McDonald's and Krispy kreme have long been criticized for their targeting of inner-city communities
by nutritionists and dietitians. Eventhoe, these companies know that there on the radar, their companies
have grown because of the high demand for low-middle income families who need cheap meals.
These days it seems like there is a McDonald's or Kentucky Fried Chicken every couple of blocks in
poor inner-cities.That's because of the low income communities, and a place like mcDonald's offers
you a good deal.
In conclusion, I agree that McDonald's is targeting young african-americans and also putting there
health in risk because of the high fat and calories consumed by these individuals.Which could lead
to problems like obesity and diabetes, this is bad because living in low income cities we will always
be a target for these franchises.
For example, when I was 13 years old, my family was very poor.We had to save money for other
things like rent or the cable bill.So eating at McDonald's was cheap and a effective way to get full.
Eating at McDonald's also is a problem because its niot healthy.Greg Critser quotes that " The total
caloric content of the meal has been jacked up form 680 calories to more than 1,340 calories".
This can become a huge problem for the kids because the more they eat, not including supersizing it,
the less active they will be in taking physical activity.
For example, I remember coming from school and eating and putting on extra pounds, after 6 months
I was 40 pounds overweight. On Saturday's and Sunday's my friend called me on the phone, come
outside and play. I did not want too because I was being lazy and the lazyness comes from eating
alot of the fatty foods which eventually made me less interested in physical activities.
People that have low-income's like drywallers and gardenero's come tired from work and all they want
is a quick meal. They dont want to sit down and cook something that will take time to prepare.
Example, I remember when my uncle was living by himself, coming home from work and buying
fast-food, like cheeseburger's,fries, and a large soda.I would tell him you have to stop eating that
because one day your cholesterol and clogging of the veins will become a problem.

First, I can say that content of the food and the truman show, matrix, allegony of the cave have in common
is that they all have a situatio. in the truman show he was trying to figure out what was going on in seahaven
and his escape from it.In the matrix Neo was trying to find if he really was the one and searching for the truth.
The allogory of the cave, he was trying also to search and discover what was out there in the real world. So to me what they have in common is searching for the ( Truth ). Which means doing anything to find out the reality. When it comes to the food unit, from my research I found that we must be aware and conscience about when it comes to knowing whats good and bad for you, this means searching for what foods are
healthy for you and knowing the truth about non- nutritional foods and there problems. Also when it came
to the ( Red pill , Blue pill ) it was a matter of ( Choice ) what choices are we willing to make in life to better
ourselves.
The tasks in the blog series that I know I need improvement is in a higher vocabulary learning. Which also means inserting the write words withs sentences. What I have to say about CAT 3? I am getting better because the preveious two that I have taken the score has increased by alot. So I am looking foward to
the next Test becasue I really have learned things that I never knew ( Dr.J ) and will continue learning.

Blog 16 " Happy Meals "
In a reading called " Happy Meals" extracted from " In Defense of Food" by Michael Pollan gives us
information to eat healthy and stay away from the non-essesntial foods. I can say that not only my family
but other families living in this country and with the economy the way it is, only some of us can afford to
eat healthy and the rest to continue with the cheap and non beneficial ways of eating.
For my family its not an issue to eat healthy, but it seems that everyone is always in a hurry. My mother
works and hardly has time to cook when she comes home. So with that I can tell you that most of the
time we order or eat out. The foods that we eat is hurting us in many ways because it does not supply
the daily nutrusions we need. Example, my uncle spends alot of time eating out at lunch time. one day he
caught a hart attack and the doctors told him his hart arteries were damageg and needed relacement
because he over the years polluted them with greasy food's.
When it comes to eating healthy, its a price you are going to have to pay.Because foods that are good for you are expensive and not every one can afford to do this.( I dis-agree) and its ( not due able) for some families. The economy will not let them, which means more McDonald's, Fried-Foods and in expensive
non-nutrition foods. This is why alot of young adults become obese and eventually suffer from some type
of disease like, Diabete or high colesterol and some eventually suffer hart attacks.
Some peole can afford the healthy life style of eating, which means eating nutritional foods and alot of
vegetables.People that eat healthy have a greater chance of living longer and for them ( Its due-able)
to eat healthy foods.Example, I can see a sports person like Michale jordan eating at his table lots
of fruit, vegetables, turkey and fine foods,Aslo exersizing and keeping his body in shape. When it comes
to financing this is not a problem for him because when money is not an issue its not a problem to eat healthy.
In conlusion a I agree and dis-agree that some people can eat healthy and some cannot. Aslo when shopping
for food's we should be more alert of what to buy because in the long run it can hurt us or give us a longer and healthier way of thinking.

In a reading extracted from Timothy Sexton, " The Dangers of Reality TV". It states that Reality TV
is sending the wrong message to there young fans that image and competition are valued more than
education. I agree with Timothy Sexton that education and someone who is qualified for the job should
be valued more than someone who has character and is amuzing.
Reality TV from my pesrpective do what they do is because the have an obligation to compete with
other shows and eventually aquire better ratings than the competition. This means by any means
necessary. For examplethere are two Reality T.v. shows on MTV, Lala's Full Court Live and The
Jersey Shore. In Lala's Full Court, she shops around the city with friends and discusess there relationships
about married life. Not to exciting, meanwhile The Jersey Shore cast members are followed around while
they party, get drunk and start some type of dilema.
From my experience, I remember going out to a night club called The Castle, with 5 of my friends.
So when we got there we began to drink as if we were in the desert and water was a all you can
drink. One of my friends started dancing with some guy's girlfriend and the other man was not to
please seeing my friend to close to his girlfriend, so he kept dancing and touching her eventually
the guy said hey you are drunk and dont want you next to my girl.My friend say hell no, I will dance
with her all night and thats when the fight started and it was a mess and we ended getting kick out.
It also states that someone that can amuse us like a actor or comedian for example, David Chappelle,
will get or win a competiton because he can amuse us and the other person who is cualified for the job
and is educated and has a college degree will be left out. There is a saying that peoploe say,its not what
you know,but who you know.
Example, It seems like these days one must be funny or talented in anyway to get where you want to be
in life.So it also seems that education will take a back seat because its not what the people want. I know
someone who got hired because he was so great in the interview when he went to applied fo the job.He was confident, funny and very outspoken.Meanwhile I, the one with a 2 year college degree was left out in the
cold because I was able to what my friend did. So It seems that competition between my friend and I, he got
the job because he convince the interview.
In conclusion, I Agree with Timothy Sexton, that Reality T.V. is sending out the wrong message.
Education is the key to success that opens many doors. It should not ne about competition but about
the reality it takes takes to become successful and the hardwork we out in each day trying to be were
we want to be in the future.
